Ella's Birthday Invitation.

Here is my future stamper hard at work. Ella helped me with her invitations - she peeled off the red part of the Sticky Tape and folded the cards together.
Here is the finished product. I made pocket cards and used the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set and the retired Hugs & Wishes stamp set. Also used the retired Sweet Always DSP (love that paper!!!).

I am back.

Hello! Wow, it's been a very long time since I have posted! Sorry about that. Going back to work full time, putting the kids into daycare, dealing with the kids' earaches.....it's been busy! And then of course summer....not much time for stamping! lol. Hope you all had a great summer! Lots of new, fun things with Stampin' Up' and their new catalogue and now the Holiday Mini catalogue that just started. Gets you in the mood for the holidays! I'll be having some Christmas classes soon so stay posted.

Ella and I are just in the process of making her 3rd birthday card invitations. I will post those when they are done. Here's a card that I just made. I made a similar one for a co-worker at work and she just loved it. I used the Big Shot Top Note die along with the textured plates. If you have the textured plates, spray the cardstock with rubbing alcohol first and the images really stand out. I have read that people use water, but really, use rubbing alcohol. Just spray the cardstock first and then run it through the Big Shot. Works like a charm. And can you believe it, no ribbon on the card. Hahaha.

to have and to hold.

Going to a wedding this weekend and of course, had to make a wedding card. I just got the stamp set 'To Have and To Hold' so that I could make some wedding cards as they are always good to have in your stash! I don't know what 'colour' the wedding is, so I used something classic - Basic Grey, Whisper White and Basic Black. The DSP is the Basic Grey out of the Hostess 6x6 paper sampler. I am loving the Basic Grey Designer paper and I wish I could buy a whole pack of it!!! I love the simple look of silver embossing. I used silver embossing for the bride and groom as well as the saying. I just cut the saying out and attached with dimensionals. I used the new Whisper White organza ribbon - it is so pretty. I used some vellum over the Basic Grey DSP and attached with some silver brads - I like using vellum, silver embossing and white ribbon for wedding cards. And of course, had to add in some tearing!!

my swaps

I wanted to post these before I left for Seattle, but time ran away on me so I didn't get a chance to! These are the two cards that I swapped at the Stampin' Up! convention. I made a total of 46 cards and got 46 back. The convention was fun - Shelli Gardener (she's the cofounder of SU) was there and we even got our picture taken with her (will post that when I get it). There were probably about 1000 people there. We got a free stamp set and it was 'Best Wishes and More' on page 55 of the IBC. We made 5 different make and takes with this stamp set as well as with the Soft Summer stamp set. I will post pictures once I upload them to the computer.

Have you thought about becoming a demonstrator? They have offered the demonstrators that went to this convention, a special promotion for new people who sign up. If you sign up between April 17th and May 4th, you will receive $60 off of the Starter Kit. This isn't a published promotion - it's only offered through me as I went to this convention!! So, if you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to contact me at sunflowerz@shaw.ca! (Please note that this does not apply to signing up online).

April 11, 2009

did I tell you that I like this set??

I made another card using the 'A Good Egg' stamp set (love the name). Saw this sample here and had to case the card. I'm loving the Parisian Breeze DSP. So many ideas to make with it. It's also thicker and more sturdier than the regular DSP.

Well, hope you all have a Happy Easter!

Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Parisian Breeze DSP
Stamp Set: A Good Egg
Ink: Basic Black, Going Gray (shading), Baja Breeze
Accessories: So Saffron Watercolour crayon, Blender pen, Pumpkin Pie marker, Baja Breeze striped ribbon, dimensionals

happy easter!

I have found my mojo....I have been working on doing my card swaps for the upcoming convention that I am going to. Starting with 24 cards....I will post my card next week for you all to see!! In the meantime, here is an Easter card for you. I really like this stamp set - it's too cute! I saw this sample and just had to case it.

occasions mini catalogue

The Occasions Mini Catalogue has started! Click on the icon on the right to be taken directly to the mini catalogue. Visit my website at http://www.carriebooth.stampinup.net/ to place your order or you can email me directly. And for the month of April, if you spend $50 from the Occasions Mini catalogue or host a workshop totalling $200 or more, you'll get one item from the "Under $12" page (page 208) in the Spring-Summer 2009 IB&C - FREE!

How's my mojo, you ask? Well, it's slowly coming back. I am working on the tote that I had previously mentioned, so that is coming along. I am off to a Stampin' Up! convention on April 18th in Seattle, and there are swaps that you can do. What you do, is make as many cards as you want (ex. 20 of one card, 20 of another or you could do 40 of just one). I am going to shoot for 50. So, you take your cards and you just swap them with other people who have made cards. You would then have 50 card examples! Make sense? So, I am shooting for 50, but that might be a little much. Last time I went, I only did 20, so we will see. I only have two weeks to get these cards done so I better find my mojo soon! As soon as I figure out what I am doing, I will post it for you!!

March 23, 2009

where have I been?

I've lost my mojo. Hahaha. Ever since I got back from Mexico, I just haven't been able to get into the swing of things. I haven't made a THING! I'm hoping that when our order comes in on Wednesday, it will kickstart my mojo!! I ordered the Thoughts & Prayers set as I  just love that tree. So, I am sure I will do something with that. I have also found that I am tired by the end of the day as Kaden is now crawling up a storm and keeps me busy and of course keeping up with Ella. You would think that being on mat leave, I would have some time to do some stamping! NOT!!!

Anyways, just wanted to say that I am still here....I am going to also make this tote found here once I get my order in. I am hoping to do it as a class, but I am not sure how long it is going to take. But I will keep you posted!!

Do you have anything you would like to share with me? Send it to me and I will post it on my blog!! I would love to see what you have been making!!

ola!

I haven't posted in awhile as I was in Mexico last week for my sister's wedding and just got back at 4:30am Monday morning! It's taken me a few days to get back into the swing of things. There are a few things to mention. SU is now going back to one annual catalogue and that will take place as of July 2009. They will bring out another mini catalogue (3 a year instead of 2) and each mini catalogue will have new hostess sets in them. So, this changes things with regards to our monthly club. Click here to view new details regarding our monthly club.

The new Occasions mini catalogue will be starting on April 1st, but there is a customer sneak peak and you can pre-order certain items during the month of March. Click here to see the sneak peak! If you would like to order an item, please let me know by the 15th of this month as I will be putting in an order at that time.

cheep talk

Finally got my stamp set in! I was able to make a few cards over the weekend. Kind of used the same look, but changed things up a little bit. The Stamp-A-Ma-Jig came in handy making this card. Want to know a little trick? Maybe you already know this! As you know, the In Colors don't come in the markers, which is kind of a bummer. So, I stamped the bird in my Pacific Point stamp pad and then sprayed some of Stampin' Mist on a q-tip and brushed the q-tip on the stamp where the beak and legs were. Then I used my Summer Sun marker and coloured the legs and beak and voila! I have a Pacific Point bird with Summer Sun legs!

Ingredients:
Stamp sets: Cheep Talk
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Summer Sun, Old Olive
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun, Pacific Point, Good Morning Sunshing DSP, Whisper White
Accessories:
card 1 -  Clips Assortment, Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon
card 2 - Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
both -  dimensionals, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig

February 13, 2009

workshop dates have been changed

I have to postpone our workshop for the 20th. It is now rescheduled for March 13th and the milk carton class will be switched to March 27th. Please let me know if you can still make it and if you can now make it, please let me know! Thanks so much...

Heartfelt Thanks

Had to make another sympathy card. I really do have to get a sympathy stamp set as I am really not a big fan of Heartfelt Thanks. Anyways, I cased a card on page 81of the IB&C. For a different way to cut your cardstock for cards, try cutting your 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock lengthwise in half at the 4 1/4" mark (the long way) instead of in half at the 5 1/2" mark.

I used the same ingredients as the last Heartfelt Thanks card.

My website is up and running again. Click here to check it out!!

February 6, 2009

bummed.

Totally bummed. As you know, I got our order in a few days ago but the one thing was missing was the one set that I was looking forward to! The Cheep Talk stamp set. I know, I know - this is a set that you either like or dislike, but I am totally loving the birds in this new catalogue. And my new favourite colour scheme is Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss and Summer Sun as listed on page 10 of the new catalogue. Not too fussy on the Pumpkin Pie or Red Rose at this point. Anyways, I called Stampin' Up! and they are shipping out my missed set. So, once I get it, I will make some cards to share!

Don't forget to let me know if you can come to the Cupcake Workshop on the 20th - I have a few spots left. And as well, please let me know if you are in for the next club which will start in April!!

I do have one card to share. I had to make a sympathy card the other day and I realized that I don't have ANY sympathy stamp sets. Hmmmm....so, I dug out the Heartfelt Thanks stamp set as I felt that the flowers in that set were appropriate. Came across this colour scheme (So Saffron and Old Olive) and I thought I would give that a try. TOTALLY out of my element as you all know that somewhere on my cards, you can usually find Chocolate Chip. Hahaha. But I am quite pleased at how this turned out.

Ingredients:
Stamp set: Heartfelt Thanks
Ink: So Saffron, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, More Mustard
Paper: So Saffron DSP from retired 6x6 paper sampler, So Saffron, Old Olive, Whisper White
Accessories: Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Silver Brads, Ticket Corner Punch

Happy weekend, everybody!!

ok, just one more valentine's card

I was originally going to use the elephant instead of the mouse (Happy Heart Day stamp set) in my previous card but it was a little too big. So, there was the elephant just sitting there looking all lonely. Of course I just couldn't throw it out. So, I put this together (apparently though, I coloured out of the lines!). Simple card - used more of the Candy Lane paper - tore it (love tearing), stuck the elephant on with dimensionals and added some ribbon attached with a brad. That's it!! Now seriously, that's it for Valentine's Day cards. :-)

January 29, 2009

happy heart day meets the big shot top note

Ok, one last Valentine's Day card and then it's time to move onto something else. Thought I would dig out the Happy Heart Day stamp set from last year. I love the top note bigz die. Actually, I love the Big Shot period! So, for this card, I sponged the edges with Riding Hood Red and there are dazzling diamonds on the butterfly heart and the flower in the heart. Not sure if you can see that or not. The mouse is stuck on with dimensionals and I roughed the edges with my fingernail.

January 28, 2009

simple rustic rooster

This card looks better in real life. I have seen alot of samples with this set, but they just seem too busy. Too me, rustic means simple, so I thought that I would make just a simple little rooster. Usually I use another colour or two and maybe some ribbon. I used Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla cardstock. I stamped the script with Versamark on the Chocolate Chip and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig (love that thing). Stamped the rooster in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla, tore the bottom and sponged the edges. Then for a splash of colour, stamped the Paris stamp in Red Rose and attached with a dimensional. Now you ask, what kind of card is this? A birthday card? A thank you card? I have no idea. I just love the rooster... :-)

I have decided to change the way the ribbon and embellishment shares are going to work. I have been thinking about my previous post and think that this new share will work better. dormant list

Last year, when SU! went to two catalogues, they began using what is called the 'Dormant List'. This is a list of stamps that are still available, but just aren't in the current catalogue. You can find a list of the most current dormant sets by clicking here.

January 24, 2009

stampin' supplies

Not sure if you have noticed or not, but the Stampin' Supplies aren't at the back of the catalogue. SU decided to do away with it so they could offer even MORE goodies! But if you click here, you can download a PDF version of them. Just print it out and stick it in the back of your catalogue!

January 19, 2009

catalogues are here!

The catalogues are here! So, for those of you who are coming to the workshop on Friday, you can get yours then, or if you want them sooner, let me know and you can come by and pick yours up. For those not in the club, catalogues are $10 which includes taxes and s/h.

2009 spring-summer catalogue

Just a quick note to remind you that the new catalogue will be online tomorrow at 12 MST (11am PST). Hopefully the catalogues will come tomorrow! I will post on line as soon as they come in!!

January 13, 2009

rustic rooster

Here is another new set from the catalogue, Rustic Rooster, which is a Level 2 hostess set. I have a thing for roosters right now and when I saw this, I had to get it. I love this colour combination - Chocolate Chip, Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss and Rose Red. You will see this colour combination in the new catalogue. Speaking of which, I got an email today that they have been shipped. And knowing our postal system, they probably won't get here until Friday or Monday.

January 12, 2009

spring-summer 2009 catalogue

One of the perks about being a SU demonstrator is that we get a complimentary catalogue sent to us usually before we receive the boxes of catalogues that we order for our customers. And today, I got mine!!! I think you are going to love it. They have made ALL of the stamps die cut so you don't have to cut them out anymore (yay! more time stamping!) There are some new accessories like jumbo brads, corduroy buttons, designer buttons and the list goes on. Oh, and the Big Shot is in the catalogue with new templates too (I'll have my Big Shot out at our workshop on the 23rd). I should have my box of catalogues by the end of the week and I will let you know when it comes in so for those who live in the area, can swing by and pick yours up (club members only).

milk carton boxes

Aren't these just too cute? They are milk carton boxes in their own little container. I totally cased the milk cartons here and found the template here. I think this we will make these for the February workshop which will be held on February 20th (mark your calendars!). The neat thing about them, is that each milk carton has it's own little trap door on the bottom so you can fill each carton with goodies! And what kind of paper did I use? I used one of the level 3 hostess sets from the new catalogue called the 'Hand Drawn Bundle. Too cute. The set comes with 2 sheets of Loop to Loop rub-ons (1 ea. Chocolate Chip and Whisper White), 9 sheets of 12x12 Designer Series double sided paper (3 ea. in 3 designs) and the It's a Loop Thing stamp set. You can obtain level 3 hostess sets by holding a workshop where your net sales (before taxes and shipping and handling) reach $655.
Here are some more card samples using the same set.

January 11, 2009

love this set

I was totally on the fence about getting the new Love You Much bundle, but since I got it, I can't stop playing with it! Made this card using the stuff from the Love You Much bundle and the Big Shot envelope die.

retired accessory list

Items on this retired accessories list will be available at regular price while supplies last or through January 18, whichever comes first.

Products are marked as available or unavailable. If an item is unavailable, our supply is exhausted and the item can no longer be ordered. This list will be updated every day through January 18.

Keep in mind that the status of any retiring product may change quickly based on demand.
With most catalogues, some accessories are completely retired while others are redesigned or reconfigured for the new catalogue. Sometimes popular items are "retired" in their current packaging or style to come back with improved packaging or added product features. This year, no accessories are being reconfigured.

happy 2009!

I hope that everybody had a wonderful holiday season! And wasn't it great having a white Christmas? They said that it was the first 'national' white Christmas since 1971!!

Anyways, down to business! I am starting this blog to keep you updated on SU information instead of always sending out emails. I will post any new SU information, so be sure to check back often. I am going to try it this way instead of sending out monthly newsletters like I used to do. If you have any comments, suggestions, please let me know! You can subscribe at the bottom which will let you know of any updates.

I will also post samples of cards, etc. (which is currently in the works).
