to have and to hold.

Going to a wedding this weekend and of course, had to make a wedding card. I just got the stamp set 'To Have and To Hold' so that I could make some wedding cards as they are always good to have in your stash! I don't know what 'colour' the wedding is, so I used something classic - Basic Grey, Whisper White and Basic Black. The DSP is the Basic Grey out of the Hostess 6x6 paper sampler. I am loving the Basic Grey Designer paper and I wish I could buy a whole pack of it!!! I love the simple look of silver embossing. I used silver embossing for the bride and groom as well as the saying. I just cut the saying out and attached with dimensionals. I used the new Whisper White organza ribbon - it is so pretty. I used some vellum over the Basic Grey DSP and attached with some silver brads - I like using vellum, silver embossing and white ribbon for wedding cards. And of course, had to add in some tearing!!

button and brad ideas.

Do you have lots of buttons and brads and need a new idea on what to do with them? Try mixing and matching them and attaching them to one another! So many fun possibilities!!!

my swaps

I wanted to post these before I left for Seattle, but time ran away on me so I didn't get a chance to! These are the two cards that I swapped at the Stampin' Up! convention. I made a total of 46 cards and got 46 back. The convention was fun - Shelli Gardener (she's the cofounder of SU) was there and we even got our picture taken with her (will post that when I get it). There were probably about 1000 people there. We got a free stamp set and it was 'Best Wishes and More' on page 55 of the IBC. We made 5 different make and takes with this stamp set as well as with the Soft Summer stamp set. I will post pictures once I upload them to the computer.

Have you thought about becoming a demonstrator? They have offered the demonstrators that went to this convention, a special promotion for new people who sign up. If you sign up between April 17th and May 4th, you will receive $60 off of the Starter Kit. This isn't a published promotion - it's only offered through me as I went to this convention!! So, if you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to contact me at sunflowerz@shaw.ca! (Please note that this does not apply to signing up online).

did I tell you that I like this set??

I made another card using the 'A Good Egg' stamp set (love the name). Saw this sample here and had to case the card. I'm loving the Parisian Breeze DSP. So many ideas to make with it. It's also thicker and more sturdier than the regular DSP.

Well, hope you all have a Happy Easter!

How's my mojo, you ask? Well, it's slowly coming back. I am working on the tote that I had previously mentioned, so that is coming along. I am off to a Stampin' Up! convention on April 18th in Seattle, and there are swaps that you can do. What you do, is make as many cards as you want (ex. 20 of one card, 20 of another or you could do 40 of just one). I am going to shoot for 50. So, you take your cards and you just swap them with other people who have made cards. You would then have 50 card examples! Make sense? So, I am shooting for 50, but that might be a little much. Last time I went, I only did 20, so we will see. I only have two weeks to get these cards done so I better find my mojo soon! As soon as I figure out what I am doing, I will post it for you!!
